The first look of Ajay Devgn’s Himmatwala also featuring south Indian actress Tamannaah. The film is directed by Sajid Khan, who has directed 3 films so far – Heyy Babyy, Housefull 1, 2 – and all the films have done well at the box-office.

Himmatwala is the remake of a 1983 Hindi film, which was a remake of the original Telugu film Ooriki Monagadu. The first Hindi film featured Jeetendra and Sridevi. It was a blockbuster at the box-office.

A portion of a song in Yash Chopra’s “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” was yet to be shot, but now will be left incomplete as the film crew has no desire to tamper with the signature style of the late filmmaker, said the film’s hero Shah Rukh Khan.

“Just a minute and a half of the song was left. He (Chopra) wanted to do it in Switzerland. We don’t have the heart to shoot that part now. We will make it impure if we had to shoot it,” Shah Rukh said at a promotional event of the film here Monday.

Other than this, the film seems to be ready for release.

“The movie is ready for release. He (Chopra) had finished editing and the background mix was happening. The film was locked by Yash ji. The film which you will see has been entirely made by Yash Chopra,” he added.

The love story stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif along with Shah Rukh and is all set to release on the Nov 13, along with Ajay Devgn’s home production “Son of Sardaar”.

Shah Rukh thinks that it is unfair to ask anyone to change their release date and therefore is fine with the simultaneous release of both the films.

“It is unfair to ask anybody to change the release date of their film. Everybody loves their films. Yash ji would have felt the same way. Films will always overlap and it is not fair for us to ask them to change it,” he said.

Talking about box office numbers, Shah Rukh said that he is not looking at collections and just wants the audience to enjoy his film.

“I am not a businessman. I just feel that my films should be enjoyed by all. I have earned enough money and awards in my life, so numbers don’t matter. But you are anxious when your film is all set to release,” he said.

We have some pictures (with necessary permission from Udaipurtimes.com) of Deepika, who is looking very pretty dressed in a salwar-kameez and Ranbir Kapoor in a white shirt and denim. Udaipur Times also reveals that the shooting in Udaipur began a month ago. The cast and crew shot several scenes at a five star hotel in the city.

Karan Johar’s banner that gave us Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kal Ho Na Ho, Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna and some of the best contemporary romantic fare, has just announced Ayan Mukerjee’s film. It is a love story, which Dharma Productions excel in.

This (hold your breath!) Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone film is titled Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.

Says Karan Johar, “The line Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani is taken from the famous RD Burman song from the 70s hit Jawani Deewani. It will our second film with Ranbir and Ayan, the team that won awards and accolades for Wake Up Sid.While WUS was a coming of age film, YJHD is quintessentially a romantic one.” When asked how Deepika managed to bag this film when so many other heroines out there were actually vying for it, Karan says, “Ayan, Ranbir and I are convinced she is the best choice for the film.”

He adds, “Deepika and Ranbir were seen together in Bachna Ae Haseeno. But according to me, their celluloid chemistry is yet to be exploited to its fullest.” Happy that Deepika will be on board for the first time in her four-year-old career, Karan says, “We’re happy to have Deepika work with us. She is a lovely girl and a very interesting actor.” YJHD will go on the floors in January 2012.
